Lap Belt 3 When you sitin a center seating position, or a station in wagon third seat,you have a lap safety belt, which has no retractor. To make the belt longer, tilt the latch plate and pull it along the belt. Buckle, position and release the same way as the lap it part of a lap-shoulder belt.If the belt isn't long enough, see "Safety Belt Extender" the end of this section. at Make sure the release button the buckleis positioned on so you would beable to unbuckle the safety belt quickly if you ever had to. To make the belt shorter, pull its end as shown until free the belt is snug. 43
