How to Add Coolant to the Radiator NOTICE: h 2. Then keep turning the pressure cap, but now push down asyou turn it. Remove the pressure cap. Your enginehas a specific radiator fill procedure. You can remove the radiator pressure cap when cooling the ' system, including the radiator pressure cap and upper radiator hose, is no longer hot. Turn the pressure cap slowly counterclockwise untilit first stops. (Don't press down while turning the pressure cap.) AUTION: You can be burned if you spill coolant onhot engine parts. Coolant contains ethylene glycol and it will burn if the engine parts arehot enough. Don'tspill coolant on a hot engine. If you hear a hiss, wait for that to stop. hiss means A there is stillsome pressure left. 5-18
