Checking Coolant A CAUTION: I'urning the surge tank pressure when the cap engine and radiator hot canallow steam and are scalding liquids to blow out and burn you badly. Never turn thesurge tank pressure cap even a little when the engine and radiator are hot. -- -- . The surge tankis located next to the engine block on the passenger's side of the engine. When your engine is cold, the coolant level should be at the full coldmark, which is 2.5 inches (60 mm)below as the base of the fill neck. Use a flashlight necessary to see into the tank.
