In Brief To open the liftgate with the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter, press and hold 8 on the RKE transmitter. To open the liftgate from outside the vehicle, press the touch pad on the outside liftgate handle. 1-7 Trunk Release . Press V on the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter. Use the key in the trunk lock cylinder. . Manual Operation of the Power Liftgate With the vehicle in P (Park) for an automatic transmission or Neutral for a manual transmission, turn the liftgate mode switch to OFF and unlock the doors. Press the touch pad under the liftgate handle and pull up on the handle. To close the liftgate, pull down on the pull cup. See Liftgate on page 2-19. If equipped with the Keyless Access system, the RKE transmitter must be within 1 m (3 ft) of the trunk for it to be recognized. The trunk can then be opened by the trunk release button above the license plate. See Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Operation (Keyless Access) See Trunk on page 2-17. To open the trunk: . Press the trunk release button on the driver door. The shift lever must be in P (Park) or N (Neutral) for automatic transmissions. For manual transmissions the shift lever must be in Neutral and the parking brake set.
