A CAUTION: - m Operating theengine with the aircleaner off can cause you or others to burned. The air cleaner be not only cleans the air, it stops flame the engine if backfires. If it isn't there, and theengine backfires, you could be burned. Don't drive with it off, and be careful working onthe engine with the air cleaner off. To check or replace the filter, remove the screws that hold the cover on lift thecover. Be sure toreinstall and the air cleaner filter and replace cover tightly. the Refer to the Maintenance Schedule todetermine when to replace the air filter. See "Scheduled Maintenance Services" in the Index. I NOTICE: If the air cleaner off, a backfire can cause is a damaging engine fire. And, dirt caneasily get into yourengine, which will damage it. Always have the aircleaner inplace when you're driving. I 6-16
