you begin learning about your new vehicle and refer to the appropriate sections when questions arise.

essential information
±Easy±FuEl™±‘no±cap’±FuEl±systEm
Your vehicle has a ‘no cap’ fuel system which allows you to simply open the fuel Fller door, insert the nozzle and start
fueling. The Easy ±uel™ system is self-sealing and therefore protected against dust, dirt, water, snow and ice. If you
need to Fll your fuel tank with a portable fuel container, use the fuel funnel which is attached to the rear of the spare tire
compartment. Slowly insert the funnel into the Easy ±uel™ system and Fll the tank with fuel from the container. When
done, clean the funnel or properly dispose of it. Extra funnels can be purchased from your authorized dealer. Do not use
aftermarket funnels as they will not work with the Easy ±uel™ system and may cause damage.
±
FuEl±typE±and±tank±capacity
Your vehicle has an 18.6 gallon (70.4L) fuel tank capacity. Your vehicle is designed to use “Regular” unleaded gasoline with
an octane rating of 87. Do not use gasoline labeled as “Regular” in high altitude areas that are sold with Octane ratings less
than 87. Your vehicle was not designed to run on E85 fuels that are blended with a maximum of 85% ethanol.
±tirE±prEssurE
Your tire pressure is properly set at the dealership according to the recommended speciFcations found on the Safety
Compliance CertiFcation Label or Tire Label located on the B-Pillar or the edge of the driver’s door. Check your tire pressure
at least once a month and before long trips (including spare, if equipped). As an added safety feature, your vehicle has been
equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) that illuminates a low tire pressure warning light when one or
more of your tires is signiFcantly under-in²ated.
Warning:
Improperly in²ated tires can affect vehicle handling and can fail
suddenly, possibly resulting in loss of vehicle control. Refer to the Tires, Wheels and Loading chapter in your Owner’s Guide
for more information.
FusEs
If the vehicle’s electrical components are not operating, a fuse may have blown. The fuse panel is located below the
instrument panel on the driver’s side and additional fuses are located in the power distribution box in the engine
compartment. ±or more information, please refer to the Roadside Emergencies chapter of your Owner’s Guide.

The moon roof is equipped with a one-touch, express
opening and closing feature.
To open the moon roof, press the SLIDE control. Press
again to close. To stop motion at any time during the
one-touch operation, press the control a second time.
sync±(If±eqUIPPeD)
Your vehicle may be equipped with
SYNC – a hands-free communications and entertainment
system with special phone and media features. ±or more
information, please refer to the SYNC Supplement or to
the SYNC section in the Navigation Supplement. Please

intEgratEd±kEyhEad±transmittEr±(ikt)±
and±rEmotE±Entry±systEm±FEaturEs
Your vehicle comes equipped with two programmed
Integrated Keyhead Transmitters (IKTs) which are both
a programmed ignition key and a remote keyless entry
transmitter. Handle the IKT carefully when starting the
car to avoid accidentally pressing any of the remote entry
buttons.
Note:
Ensure that you keep the adhesive security
labels in a safe place for future reference. Replacements
are only available through an authorized dealer.
Press
once to unlock the driver’s door. The interior
lamps will illuminate.
Press
twice to unlock all the doors.
Press
once to lock all the doors. The turn lamps
will ²ash.
Press
twice to conFrm all the doors and liftgate are
closed. The doors will lock again, the horn will chirp and
the turn lamps will ²ash once if all the doors and trunk
are closed.
Press
twice within three seconds to fully unlatch
and open the liftgate.
Note:
If any door or the liftgate is not closed, the horn will
chirp twice and the lamps will not ²ash.
Press
to activate the panic alarm. The horn will
sound and the turn lamps will ²ash. Press
again or
turn the ignition on to deactivate the panic alarm.
Car Fnder: Press
twice within three seconds.
The horn will chirp and the turn lamps will ²ash. It is
recommended to use this method to locate your vehicle,
rather than using the panic alarm.
naVigation±systEm±(If±eqUIPPeD)
Your vehicle may be equipped with a Mobile Media
Navigation System which allows you to record CDs,
listen to your saved music, play DVDs and access climate
control options in addition to navigating the vehicle. The
navigation system works in conjunction with the climate
control system, allowing you to view and make
adjustments using the touch screen, as well as with
the hard buttons. SIRIUS Travel Link™ is an extra
subscription feature which, if activated, allows you to
locate the best gas prices, Fnd movie listings, get
current trafFc alerts, access the current weather map,
get accurate ski conditions and access scores to
current sports games.

rEVErsE±camEra±(If±eqUIPPeD)
Your vehicle may be equipped with a reverse camera
located on the liftgate, which provides a visual display
of the area behind the vehicle. The display will
automatically appear on the navigation system screen
(if equipped) whenever the vehicle is in Reverse (R) and
uses colors (green, yellow and red) to alert you of your
proximity to objects. Refer to your Owner’s guide for
more information.
±
rEFrigErator±(If±eqUIPPeD)±
Your vehicle may be equipped with a refrigerator in
the second row console. To access, ²ip the console
lid forward and then lift off the cover. (Ensure that you
replace the cover after you are done as it helps maintain
a consistent cooling temperature.)
To use the system as a refrigerator, press the COOL side
of the control on the front of the system. The indicator
light will illuminate when the refrigerator is active. In this
mode, the system will cool to approximately 41˚± (5˚C).
Press COOL again to turn off the refrigerator mode or
press ±REEZE to change to freezer mode.
To use the system as a freezer, press the ±REEZE side
of the control on the front of the system. The indicator
light will illuminate when the freezer is active. The
system will cool to approximately 23˚± (-5˚C). Press
±REEZE again to turn off the freezer or COOL to switch
to refrigerator mode.
Note:
The refrigerator will only work when the vehicle’s
ignition is on.
ambiEnt±lighting±
±(If±eqUIPPeD)
Your vehicle may be equipped with an ambient lighting
feature. The control is located in the center console
storage area, and, when activated, illuminates four
footwells and two cup holders with a choice of seven
colors. Ambient lighting is operational when the ignition
is on or in the accessory position. Press the control
repeatedly to turn on, cycle through your color choices,
and turn off.
±
110±Volt±powEr±point
Your vehicle may be equipped with a 110 VAC power
point outlet located on the back of the center console.
This outlet is used for powering electrical devices that
require up to 150W.
Note:
Do not exceed 150W as it will
cause the power point to cut off the power temporarily to
provide overload protection. Refer to your Owner’s Guide
for more information.

±±
(If±eqUIPPeD)
Your vehicle may be equipped with heated outside
mirrors which will automatically turn on when the rear
window defrost is activated.
±hEatEd±2nd±row±sEats±
±(If±eqUIPPeD)
Your vehicle may be equipped with heated 2nd row seats.
Press the control on the rear of the front center console
once to activate high heat, twice to activate low heat and
three times to deactivate.
trailEr±tow
Your vehicle is equipped with a trailer towing package.
Please refer to your Owner’s Guide for complete
information on weights as well as the proper equipment
to use while towing.
Note:
Do not use the mini spare
tire when towing as the mini spare is not intended for
higher towing load limits. Instead, use the temporary
mobility kit (if equipped). If you attempt to tow heavy
loads with the mini spare tire, vehicle handling may
be diminished which could lead to loss of control and
serious personal injury.
±changing±thE±tirEs±
If you get a ²at tire while driving, do not apply the brake heavily. Instead, gradually decrease your speed. Hold the
steering wheel Frmly and slowly move to a safe place on the side of the road. Your vehicle is equipped with either
a temporary spare tire or a temporary mobility kit. The spare tire and jack are located under the carpeted ²oor panel
in the rear of the vehicle. The temporary spare is designed for emergency use only and should be replaced as soon
as possible.
The temporary mobility kit is located under the driver’s seat and can be accessed by moving the driver’s seat fully
forward and releasing the VELCRO
®
strap, which attaches it to the seat frame. The kit contains an air compressor to
re-in²ate the tire and a sealing compound that will seal most punctures caused by nails or similar objects. The mobility
kit will provide a temporary seal allowing you to drive up to 120 miles (200 km) at a maximum speed of 50 mph (80
km/h). After sealant use, the TPMS sensor and valve stem on the wheel must be replaced by an authorized ±ord dealer.
Note:
The sealant in the canister is to be used for one tire only. See your authorized dealer for replacement canisters.

roadsidE±assistancE
Your new ±ord ±lex comes with the assurance and support
of 24-hour emergency roadside assistance. Roadside
assistance includes such services as: lockout assistance,
limited fuel delivery, battery jump starts, changing a
²at tire (except vehicles that have been supplied with
a temporary mobility kit), towing, and winch out. To
receive roadside assistance in the United States, call
1 (800) 241-3673. In Canada, call 1 (800) 665-2006.

s.o.s.±post±crash±alErt±systEm
Your vehicle is equipped with the S.O.S. Post Crash Alert
system. This system provides audible and visual alarms
in the event of a crash which causes the deployment of
airbags or the activation of the safety belt pretensioners.
The turn signals will ²ash and the horn will sound. To
deactivate the system, press the hazard ²asher control,
or you can press the
button on your remote
transmitter (key fob).
powEr±liFtgatE±(If±eqUIPPeD)
Your vehicle may be equipped with a power liftgate.
Press
on the instrument panel to open (or
close) the liftgate.
Press
twice within three seconds on your IKT
to open (or close) the liftgate OR
Unlock the liftgate using your IKT or the power door
lock control. Then push the control button located
above the liftgate outside handle.
To close the liftgate using the rear cargo button,
press and release the
control on the left rear
quarter panel close to the liftgate.
Note:
The rear
cargo area control button is disabled when the
liftgate is latched.
Your power liftgate is equipped with an obstacle detection
feature. If the liftgate detects an obstacle while opening,
the system will stop and a chime will sound three times.
If the liftgate detects an obstacle while closing, the
system will reverse to a full open position and a chime
will sound three times. Once the obstacle is removed,
the power liftgate can be operated normally. Refer to
your Owner’s Guide for more information.
Warning:
Keep clear of the liftgate when activating
the rear switch.
