Running Your Engine While You're Parked It's better not to park with engine running. But you the if ever have to, here are some things to know. Idling the engine withthe climate control system off could allow dangerous exhaust into your vehicle (seethe earlier Caution under "Engine Exhaust"). Also, idling in a closed-in placecan let deadly carbon monoxide (CO)into your vehicle evenif the fan switch isat the highest setting. One place this can happen is a garage.
