This is like four-wheel drive, but there is no separate lever or switch to engage or disengage the rear axle. It is fully automatic, and adjusts itself as needed for road conditions. If vehicle speed drops below 20 mph (32 km/h), or if the engine is not running smoothly, you should downshift to the next lower gear. You may have to downshift two or more gears to keep the engine running smoothly or for good performance.
