Mirrors {CAUTION: Outside Power Mirrors It can be dangerous to get out of your vehicle if the shift lever is not fully in PARK (P) with the parking brake firmly set. Your vehicle can roll. Do not leave your vehicle when the engine is running unless you have to. If you have left the engine running, the vehicle can move suddenly. You or others could be injured. To be sure your vehicle will not move, even when you are on fairly level ground, always set your parking brake and move the shift lever to PARK (P). Follow the proper steps to be sure your vehicle will not move. See Shifting Into Park (P) on page 2-40. If you are pulling a trailer, see Towing a Trailer on page 4-40. The controls, located on the driver's door, operate both outside rearview mirrors. Push the top control to the left or right to choose either the driver's or passenger's outside rearview mirror. Leave the control in the center position to prevent moving the mirrors once they are adjusted. Use the arrows on the bottom control to adjust the position of each mirror. Adjust each mirror so that you can see the side of your vehicle and the area behind it, while sitting in a comfortable driving position. Both outside mirrors can be folded forward or rearward to prevent damage when going through car washes or confined spaces. 2-43
