SAFETY AND EMERGENCY FEATURES Traction control system The traction control system helps control spinning of the front wheels which may occur when accelerating on slippery roads. Vehicle skid control system1 The vehicle skid control system1 helps provide comprehensive control of the anti-lock brakes, brake-assist2, traction control, engine control and other systems. This system helps prevent the vehicle from skidding under adverse conditions. Refer to your Owner's Manual for more details. 1Vehicle Skid Control (VSC) is an electronic system designed to help the driver maintain vehicle control under adverse conditions. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Factors including speed, road conditions and driver steering input can all affect whether VSC will be effective in preventing loss of control. 2Brake-Assist is designed to help the driver take full advantage of the benefits of ABS. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Braking effectiveness also depends on proper brakesystem maintenance and tire and road conditions. 20
