Maintenance and service Front differential gear oil (Automatic transmission) J Checking the oil level WARNING Never let differential oil contact your eyes because differential oil can be harmful to your eyes. If differential oil gets in your eyes, immediately flush them thoroughly with clean water. For safety, when performing this work, wearing eye protection is advisable. Check the differential oil level monthly. Yellow Upper level Lower level HBA009BB HBA010BB 1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and stop the engine. 2. Pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean, and insert it again. 3. Pull out the dipstick again and check the oil level on it. If it is below the lower level, add oil to bring the level up to the upper level. J Recommended grade and viscosity Each oil manufacturer has its own base oils and additives.
