If other than CALIFORNIA EMISSION CONTROL WARRANTY Genuine Toyota Parts are used for maintenance, replacement or repair of components affecting emission control, you should ensure that such parts are warranted by their manufacturers to be equivalent to Genuine Toyota Parts in calibration, performance, and durability. Repairs and Maintenance The performance of required scheduled maintenance by you or by a person of your choosing or the use of any automotive repair establishment or individuals who regularly engage in the business of servicing automobiles for the performance of the maintenance, replacement, or repair of emission control devices and systems that are paid for by you does not affect the emission warranty. 15 Emergency Repairs In an emergency situation or to rectify an unsafe condition where an authorized Toyota dealer is not reasonably available, or a part is not available within 30 days, or a repair is not completed within 30 days, you may perform the repair, or you may have the repair performed at any service establishment or by a person of your choosing. Any replacement part may be used in an emergency situation; however, Toyota will not assume liability for subsequent failure caused by the use of non-equivalent parts unless you have taken steps to put the vehicle back in a conforming condition in a timely manner.You will then be required to present the replaced parts and copies of paid repair invoices to an authorized Toyota dealer for reimbursement of expenses, including diagnostic charges, not to exceed the manufacturer s suggested retail price for all warranted parts replaced and labor charges based on the manufacturer s recommended time allowance for the - 23 -
