'98 Tacoma (U) Move seat fully back Only when you put a rear- facing child restraint system on the front seat unavoidably, turn the passenger airbag switch to the "OFF" position. The indicator comes on when the system is off. CAUTION D Do not put a rear-facing child restraint system on the rear seat if the child restraint system interferes with the front seat lock mechanism or with your proper driving position. This can cause severe injury to the child and front passenger in case of sudden braking or a collision. D A forward- facing child restraint system should be put on the front seat only when it is unavoidable. Always move the seat as far back as possible, because the force of a deploying airbag could cause death or serious injury to the child. CAUTION If you must put restraint system make sure the switch is in the that the indicator a rear- facing child on the front seat, passenger airbag "OFF" position and light is on. D If your driving position is not satisfactory, install the child restraint system at another position. 52
