T Resume by PCI PME (Enabled): This item specifies whether the system will be awakened from power-saving modes when activity or input signal of the specified hardware peripheral or component is detected. T Resume by Ring (Enabled): An input signal on the serial Ring indicator (RI) line (in other words, an incoming call on the modem) awakens the system from soft off state. T S3 resume by USB devices (Disabled): This option allows the activity of the USB devices (keyboard and mouse) to wake up the system from S3 sleep state. T Resume by PS2 MS/KS (S3) (Disabled): Enable or disable the function of waking up the system by the mouse/keyboard activity. T Power on After Power fail (Off): This item enables your computer to automatically restart or return to its last operating status after power returns from a power failure. T Resume by Alarm (Disabled): When it is set to Enabled, additional fields become available and you can set the data (day of the month), hour, minute and second to turn on your system. When it is set to zero for the day of the month, the alarm will power on your system every day at the specified time. T **Reload Global Timer Events**: Global Timer (power management) events are I/O events whose occurrence can prevent the system from entering a power saving mode or can awaken the system from such a mode. In effect, the system remains alert for anything that occurs to a device that is configured as Enabled, even when the system is in a power-down mode. T Primary/Secondary IDE 1/0 (Disabled): When these items are enabled, the system will restart the power-saving timeout counters when any activity is detected on any of the drives or devices on the primary or secondary IDE channels. T FDD, COM, LPT Port (Disabled): When this item is enabled, the system will restart the powersaving timeout counters when any activity is detected on the floppy disk drive, serial ports, or the parallel port. T PCI PIRQ[A-D]# (Disabled): When this item is enabled, any activity from one of the listed devices wakes up the system. Chapter 2 36
