System Security The Setup program has a number of security features to prevent unauthorized access to the system and its data. The following screen appears if you select System Security from the main menu: System Security Supervisor Password None] User Password Disk Drive Controller Floppy Drive Normal] Hard Disk Drive Normal] Processor Serial Number Disabled] The following table describes the parameters found in this menu. Settings in boldface are the default and suggested settings. Parameter Supervisor Password User Password Disk Drive Controller Floppy Drive Hard Disk Drive Processor Serial Number Description Prevents unauthorized access to the BIOS utility. Secures your system against unauthorized use. Once you set this password, you have to type it whenever you boot the system. Allows you to protect your system's floppy drive and hard disk data from being modified (possible under DOS mode only). Protects your floppy drive data from being modified. Protects your hard disk data from being modified. Enables or Disables the processor serial number (only if system have PIII processor). Options None or Present. The Present setting allows you to set a Setup password. For instructions on how to set a Setup password, refer to "Setting a Password" on page 41.
