This memory area is not part of the system RAM which allows configuration data to be retained when power is turned off. Entering CMOS setup 1. Turn on the computer and the monitor. If the server is already turned on, close all open applications, then restart the server. 2. During POST, press Delete. Removing the Heat Sink Fan Assembly WARNING:The heat sink becomes very hot when the system is on. NEVER touch the heat a long-nosed screwdriver to loosen the four screws on the heat sink, in the order as shown below. X1700 model 4. Lift the heat sink fan assembly away from the mainboard.
