q Feed Jump stitch q Fill group box (Stitches tab of corresponding Properties dialog box) Used to specify the length of fill stitches (Length box) and the distance that subsequent rows of stitches are offset from another (Offset box), like brickwork. q Glyph connection group box (Commands tab of Text Properties dialog box) Used to determine how characters in the selected text shape are connected. q Group (on Shape drop-down menu) Groups design shapes. Once grouped, the shapes act as a single unit. q Half stitches group box (Stitches tab of corresponding Properties dialog box) Used to specify the sewing of short stitches in a curve or corner to alleviate compression on the inner portion, thereby eliminating possible thread breaks, needle breaks and holes in garments. q Horizontal border box (Underlay stitches group box on Stitches tab of corresponding Properties dialog box) Used to specify the distance between the horizontal edges of the underlay and the edge of the design shape's outline. q Insert Point Before (on Punchpoints drop-down menu) Adds a new punchpoint before the selected one, providing finer control during reshaping. q Insert Point After (on Punchpoints drop-down menu) Adds a new punchpoint after the selected one, providing finer control during reshaping. q Inside gap box (Half stitches group box on Stitches tab of corresponding Properties dialog box) Used to specify the inner density of half stitches as a percentage of the outside. q Jagged edges group box (Stitches tab of corresponding Properties dialog box) Used to specify programmable stitches which may be applied for decorating the edge of satin stitches (on a column or region), for example, a scallop or a random shaggy pattern. q Load CD ROM Designs button (Utilities tab of Library Maintenance dialog box) Used to load information about all CD designs (# of stitches, color changes, size, etc.) onto the hard disk to be used with the design library. The actual designs are not loaded and must still be accessed through the CD. q Maintain aspect ratio check box (Text tab of Text Properties dialog box) Used to prevent lettering from becoming distorted when a fixed baseline is too short to accommodate the set text height. Same as clicking the Maintain Aspect Ratio button ( ) in the Text bar. q Markers (on View drop-down menu) Allows you to specify which of the colored symbols that identify specific details of a design should be displayed. q Medium sized stitches check box (Text Effects tab of Text Properties dialog box) Used to specify whether diagonal stitches are used instead of the usual side-to-side stitches when creating small text. q "Memorize" Maintenance (on Options drop-down menu) Allows previously memorized stitches and settings to be edited, renamed, or deleted. 94
