Chapter 6 • If You Do Not Subscribe to Distinctive Ring Service: You must plug your TAD into the EXT. jack of your machine. If your TAD is plugged into a wall jack, both your machine and the TAD will try to control the telephone line. (See the illustration below.) • Before you connect the external TAD, remove the protective cap (2) from the EXT. jack on the machine. 1 1 Connections 6 The external TAD must be plugged into the jack labeled EXT. (The machine's Ring Delay setting does not apply.) d Record the outgoing message on your external TAD. e Set the TAD to answer calls. f Set the Receive Mode to External TAD. Ring Service:
You must plug your TAD into the EXT.
