KNOWING YOUR SEWING MACHINE / CONOZCA SU MÁQUINA DE COSER Upper Threading / Enhebrado del hilo superior 1 Spool pin / Portacarrete 2 Thread guide (back) / Guía del hilo (parte trasera) 3 Thread guide (front) / Guía del hilo (parte delantera) 4 Thread take-up lever / Tirahilo 5 Mark on the handwheel / Marca de la rueda CAUTION/PRECAUCIÓN ● Make sure you thread the machine properly. Otherwise, the thread could tangle and break the needle. IMPORTANT: 1 Raise the presser foot using the presser foot lever. Raise the needle to its highest position by 2 turning the handwheel toward you (counterclockwise) so that the mark on the handwheel points directly up. • If the needle is not correctly raised, the sewing machine can not be threaded. Be sure to turn the handwheel so that the mark on the wheel points up before threading the sewing machine. Pull up the spool pin and put a spool of thread 3 on this pin. 1 1 Presser foot lever / Palanca del pie prensatela CAUTION/PRECAUCIÓN ● If the spool of thread is in the wrong place, or is set incorrectly, the thread may tangle on the spool pin and cause the needle to break. 32
