Ink Cartridge The ink cartridge is not included, and must be purchased separately. (See "About the Ink Cartridge," on p. 24.) Ink Absorber Absorbs any ink that leaks out of the ink cartridge. Connecting the Power Cord Connect the power cord. Make sure to use only the power cord provided with the scanner. WARNING When connecting the power cord, follow these precautions. NOTE Do not use more than one cartridge by rotation. If you do so, applications cannot check the ink level precisely. F Push down the ink cartridge until it clicks into place. Cleaning the Magnetic Heads If the magnetic heads are dirty, then MICR characters cannot be scanned correctly. Periodically, clean the magnetic heads with a commercially available audio head cleaner.
