Please fix those switches and retry the command. Resolving Mode Issues Device alias enhanced mode is available in switches running SAN-OS Release 3.1(1) and later. In a mixed fabric (a fabric that includes switches running Release 3.1(1) and switches running Release 3.0(x) or earlier), an attempt to enable device alias enhanced mode fails. Unless all of the switches in the fabric can be upgraded to Release 3.1(1) or later, you cannot enable device alias enhanced mode. If you attempt to enable enhanced mode in a successfully merged mixed fabric, or to commit a device alias database that enables enhanced mode to resolve a merge failure in a mixed fabric, the configuration or the commit will fail. Example 15-14 shows the commit failure and Example 15-15 shows the configuration failure.
