Startup Opening the Notebook To open the notebook: 1. Place the notebook display-side up on a flat surface near an electrical outlet. 2. Slide the display release latch 1, and then lift the display 2. Power Hibernation Hibernation takes a snapshot of the current system memory, saves it to the hard drive, and then shuts down the notebook. When you restore from Hibernation, your work returns to the screen exactly as you left it. You can assign different schemes depending on whether the notebook is running on a battery pack or external power. Power Storing a Battery Pack If the notebook will be unused and unplugged for more than 2 weeks, remove and store the battery pack. Ä CAUTION: To prevent damage to a battery pack, do not expose it to high temperatures for extended periods of time.
