Use the no form of the command to restore the default behavior and configure BGP to consider the AS path during route selection. bgp bestpath as-path ignore no bgp bestpath as-path ignore Syntax None Default AS path is considered in the best path selection. Command Mode Router configuration Usage Guideline The following are the rules used for the best path selection process. 1. If the next hop associated with the route is unreachable, then the route is 1. If the next hop associated with the route is unreachable, then the route is dropped. 2. When both paths are external, always prefer the path that was received first (the oldest one). 11. Always prefer the route that comes from the BGP router with the lowest router ID. 12. If the originator or router ID is the same for multiple paths, prefer the path with the minimum cluster list length. 13. Always prefer the path that comes from the lowest neighbor address.
