Configuring Integrated SCSI and NIC
Controllers
There have been recent changes to the BIOS and/or system board of your Dell™ system that
allow you to enable or disable the integrated small computer system interface (SCSI) and
network interface controller (NIC) controllers. This document explains the System Setup
options that allow you to configure the integrated SCSI and NIC controllers in your system.
For more information, see °Using the System Setup Program± in your system²s
User°s
Guide
.
The
Integrated Devices
screen in the System Setup program allows you to configure
integrated device controllers. Use the following options to configure the SCSI and NIC
controllers:
³
SCSI Controller
´ Enables or disables the system²s integrated SCSI controller. For
the system to boot from a drive attached to the integrated SCSI controller, the drive
must also be enabled. Disabling the SCSI controller causes the BIOS to mask the
presence of devices attached to the controller.
³
Network Interface Controller
´ Enables or disables the system’s two integrated
NICs. Options allow you to enable the controller with or without PXE support or to
disable the controller. PXE support allows the system to boot from the network.
Changes take effect after reboot.
