4 Setting up the USB hub Setting up the USB hub USB-enabled laptop USB Peripherals Connect to USB keyboard, mouse, camera, printer, etc. System requirements To use the USB hub, your computer must have: • USB port • USB-compliant operating system, such as Windows 98SE, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac OS 8.6 or above. Installing the USB hub To install the USB hub: 1 Plug the cable into a Type A connector on the computer. The computer detects the hub and installs the required drivers. 2 Plug the cables from the USB devices/peripherals into the downstream ports. 3 Optional: Plug the power adapter into an AC electrical outlet, and then plug the other end of the cable into the USB hub's power connector. Note: Your computer's USB controller can power some USB devices, but the controller may not provide enough power for all the USB devices you plug in. By connecting the USB hub to an electrical outlet, you make sure that all the USB devices get enough power.

Setting up the USB hub
System requirements
To use the USB hub, your computer must have:
USB port
USB-compliant operating system, such as Windows 98SE, Windows 2000,
Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Mac OS 8.6 or above.
Installing the USB hub
To install the USB hub:

Plug the cable into a Type A connector on the computer. The computer
detects the hub and installs the required drivers.

Plug the cables from the USB devices/peripherals into the downstream
ports.

Optional: Plug the power adapter into an AC electrical outlet, and then plug
the other end of the cable into the USB hub’s power connector.
Note: Your computer’s USB controller can power some USB devices, but the
controller may not provide enough power for all the USB devices you plug in.
By connecting the USB hub to an electrical outlet, you make sure that all the
USB devices get enough power.
