Safety Precautions

This section presents important information intended to ensure safe and effective use of this

product. Please read this section carefully and store it in an accessible location.

WARNING:

Shut down your equipment immediately if it produces smoke, a strange odor, or unusual

noise. Continued use may lead to fire or electric shock. Immediately unplug the equipment

and contact your dealer or a Seiko Epson service center for advice.

Never attempt to repair this product yourself. Improper repair work can be dangerous.

Never disassemble or modify this product. Tampering with this product may result in injury,

fire, or electric shock.

Never insert or disconnect the power plug with wet hands. Doing so may result in severe

shock.

Do not allow foreign matter to fall into the equipment. Penetration of foreign objects may

lead to fire or shock.

If water or other liquid spills on this equipment, unplug the power cable immediately, and

then contact your dealer or a Seiko Epson service center for advice. Continued usage

may lead to fire or shock.

The power unit should always be kept in a safe and stable environment, both when in use

and when in storage. In particular, keep the unit away from the following, which may

cause damage, fire or other accidents:

Direct sunlight, high temperature and humidity, extreme changes in temperature,

heating and cooling equipment, or humidity, volatile materials, high levels of dust,

locations that might become wet with liquid such as water and oil, fire, vibration, and

impact.

Be sure the product is not covered with any fabric, such as a blanket or tablecloth, during

use. This may cause overheating inside the product and lead to fire.

Do not place multiple loads on the power outlet (wall outlet). Overloading the outlet may

lead to fire.

Be sure your power cable meets the relevant safety standards and includes a power-

system ground terminal (PE terminal). Otherwise shock may result.

Handle the cables with care. Improper handling may lead to fire or shock.

Do not use the cables if it they are damaged.

Do not modify or attempt to repair the cables.

Do not place any object on top of the cables.

Avoid excessive bending, twisting, and pulling of the cables.

Do not place cables near heating equipment.

Check that the plug is clean before plugging it in.

Check that the AC inlet is clean before plugging the power connector in it.

Be sure to push the prongs and power connector all the way in.

Use the provided power cable only. Do not use the provided power cable with any other

devices than the specified one. Doing so may lead to fire or shock.

Never glue the AC inlet of the power unit and the power cable together.

Regularly remove the power plug from the outlet and clean the base of the prongs and

between the prongs. If you leave the power plug in the outlet for a long time, dust may

collect on the base of the prongs, causing a short and fire.

Regularly confirm that the plug and AC inlet are not wet with liquid such as water.

Be sure to use this product only with EPSON products that are approved to be used with this

power supply. Do not connect it to equipment from other manufacturers. Use this product

only for its intended application. Improper usage may lead to equipment damage, fire, or

shock.

Do not place heavy objects on top of this product or cables. Never stand or lean on this

product or cables. Equipment may fall or collapse, causing breakage, fire, or shock.

CAUTION:

Be sure to set this unit on a firm, stable, horizontal surface. Product may break or cause

injury if it falls.

To ensure safety, please unplug this product prior to leaving it unused for an extended

period.

Unpacking and Preparation

Confirm that the package includes the power unit. If the power unit is damaged or incomplete,

contact your dealer for assistance.

Notes on Usage

Always supply power directly from a standard power outlet.

❏

Set the power unit so that its label side is facing down.

❏

Do not connect to electrical outlets close to devices that generate voltage fluctuations or

electrical noise. In particular, stay clear of devices that use large electric motors.

❏

Always connect the DC cable before plugging the power cable into the wall outlet.

❏

When disconnecting power, always unplug the power cable from the wall outlet before

disconnecting the DC cable.

❏

When disconnecting the DC cable, hold it firmly at the connector area. Do not tug on the cable

itself.

❏

To clean the unit, wipe with a dry or slightly moistened (and firmly wrung out) cloth. Never

clean the unit while it is plugged into the wall outlet.

Do not clean the unit with thinner, benzine, or alcohol.

❏

Never attempt to stretch the cables to enable a connection. The power cable and DC cable must

have adequate slack at all times during use.

Never allow the power unit to hang from the power cable or DC cable.

❏

Do not place metallic parts (such as fasteners) in contact with the DC cable.

❏

Do not connect the unit to a table tap or extension cable.

❏

本製品を毛布やテーブルクロスなどでおおった状態で使わないでください。内部に熱がこもり、

火災の原因となることがあります。

電源ケーブルのたこ足配線はしないでください。火災のおそれがあります。

電源ケーブルは安全規格取得品で電源システム接地 (PE) 端子の付いたものを使用し、接地を確実

に実施してください。感電のおそれがあります。

ケーブルの取り扱いには注意してください。誤った取り扱いをすると火災・感電のおそれがあり

ます。

電源ユニットの AC インレット部と電源ケーブルを、接着剤などで固定しないでください。

電源プラグは、定期的にコンセントから抜いて、刃の根元、および刃と刃の間を清掃してくださ

い。電源プラグを長期間コンセントに差したままにしておくと、刃の根元にホコリが付着し、

ショートして火災の原因となるおそれがあります。
