Using Accessories Calibrating the Foot Pod Calibrating your foot pod is optional and can improve accuracy. There are three ways to adjust the calibration: distance, GPS, and manual. Distance Calibration For best results, the foot pod should be calibrated using the inside lane of a regulation track. A regulation track (2 laps = 800 m) is more accurate than a treadmill. 1. Press mode > select Settings > Sport Settings > Foot Pod. 2. Select Yes in the Foot pod sensor present field. 3. Select calibration. 4. Select By Distance 5. Select a distance. 6. Select continue. 7. Press start to begin recording. 8. Run or walk the distance. 9. Press stop. 38 GPS Calibration You must have GPS signals to calibrate the Foot Pod using GPS. 1. Press mode > select Settings > Sport Settings > Foot Pod. 2. Select Yes in the Foot pod sensor present field. 3. Select calibration. 4. Select By GPS 5. Enter a distance in the Choose Your Distance field. 6. Select Continue. 7. Press Start. 8. Run or walk. The Forerunner informs you that you have traveled far enough. Manual Calibration If your foot pod distance seems slightly high or low each time you run, you can manually adjust the calibration factor. Forerunner 310XT Owner's Manual
