Service Tests and Utilities NOTE NOTE WARNING Tip for Repair 1. Electronic Systems The purpose of this test is to verify the operation of the: n Electronics Module. n DRAM. n Trailing Cable. n Carriage Assembly. This test does not test the EIO Card or the Hard Disk Drive. The Service Tests work in a special Mode which does NOT require the full Initialization of the Printer. Therefore it is important that once you have finished with the Service Test, you MUST power OFF the Printer and Power ON again before trying to print. IF POSSIBLE ALWAYS PERFORM THIS TEST BEFORE REPLACING THE ELECTRONICS MODULE, TRAILING CABLE OR THE CARRIAGE ASSEMBLY. IF THIS TEST PASSES, DO NOT REPLACE THE ELECTRONICS MODULE, TRAILING CABLE OR THE CARRIAGE ASSEMBLY. This test can be performed with just the Front Panel, Trailing Cable, Carriage, Electronics Module and the Power Cord connected together to isolate problems.
