the Embedded Web Server Each HP Jetdirect 170X print server contains an embedded web server that can be accessed through a supported web browser on an intranet. Server If the HP Jetdirect print server does not receive its IP configuration within two minutes, a default IP address is automatically assigned: 192.0.0.192. This address is not a valid IP address for your network but can be used to initially access the print server. Resetting Configuration to Factory Defaults Once you configure the HP Jetdirect 170X, the configuration settings are retained in memory unless you manually reset them to factory defaults. 8 HP Jetdirect Configuration Page Messages Overview This chapter describes the messages, network statistics, and status that can be printed on a configuration page (also called a self-test page or configuration plot). If you have not printed a configuration page from your printer, see chapter 3. - HP 170X | HP JetDirect 170X - Installation and Configuration Guide - Page 57
configured for Novell. DISABLED indicates that IPX/SPX was manually disabled. READY indicates the HP Jetdirect print server is awaiting data. INITIALIZING indicates that the print server is registering the node address or name. Code is in the middle of a download. NOVRAM ERROR The HP Jetdirect print server cannot read the contents of its NOVRAM. TO FIND SERVER The HP Jetdirect print server was unable to find the NetWare print server (Remote Printer mode) or file server (Queue Server mode). to set the password for the print server object. (Whenever the HP Jetdirect print server is able to log in without a password, it sets the password automatically.) This indicates a networking or security problem. Create a new print server object.
