CAUTION If you are using direct-mode printing over IPX/SPX on a Microsoft network, do not disable IPX/SPX. For a Novell NetWare network: G The embedded Web server may be used to select Queue Server Mode parameters in a Novell Directory Services (NDS) environment. G You cannot create the NDS print server, printer, and queue objects using the embedded Web server. To create these objects, use other available tools or utilities. Table 4.5 Item IPX/SPX Settings (1 of 2) Description IPX/SPX Enable Enables or disables the IPX/SPX protocols on the HP Jetdirect print server. If the checkbox is empty, IPX/SPX is disabled. IPX/SPX Frame Type Specify the IPX/SPX frame type to be used by the HP Jetdirect print server on your network. After a frame type has been configured, all others will be counted and discarded. G AUTO (default) senses all frame types and configures the first one detected. G EN_8023 limits the frame type to IPX over IEEE 802.3 frames. G EN_II limits the frame type to IPX over Ethernet frames. G EN_8022 limits the frame type to IPX over IEEE 802.2 with IEEE 802.3 frames. G EN_SNAP limits the frame type to IPX over SNAP with IEEE 802.3 frames. G TR_8022 limits the frame type to IPX over IEEE 802.2 LLC with IEEE 802.5 frames. G TR_SNAP limits the frame type to IPX over SNAP with IEEE 802.5 frames. SAP Interval Specifies the time interval (in seconds) that the HP Jetdirect print server waits to send Service Advertising Protocol (SAP) messages, which are broadcast to advertise its service capabilities on a Novell NetWare network.
