1: Insert the battery To insert the battery: 1. Turn the computer upside down on a flat surface, with the battery bay toward you. 2. Insert the battery into the battery bay (1) until it is seated. cord into the AC adapter (2). 3. Plug the other end of the power cord into an AC outlet (3). When the computer receives AC power, the battery begins to charge and the battery light (on the left side of the computer) turns on. When the battery is fully charged, the battery light turns off. ▲ Press the power button (1). The power light (2) turns on. Step 5: Set up the software After the computer is turned on, it will go through software setup. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the software. You can use the recovery discs to start up (boot) the computer and restore the operating system and software programs to factory settings in case of system failure or instability.
