Look at the front-panel display for messages. See Message Descriptions for a full explanation of front-panel messages. 2. Test the printer. - Switch the printer off on the front of the printer. Make sure that the power cord is firmly inserted in the printer and plugged in to an outlet that you know works. - Switch the printer on and make sure the front-panel display shows the HP welcome screen followed by Main Menu after a short initialization period. 3. Test your computer hardware and interface. - Make sure that you have the correct interface cable between the computer and the printer and that it is firmly connected to the correct ports (see the Assembly and Set-up Poster). - Check that your printer's graphics language setting (in Setup > Graphic Language) matches the requirements of your software.
