Chapter 1 Printer Basics 36 Optional Hard Disk The Hard Disk accessory can be used to permanently store downloaded fonts and forms in the printer. Unlike standard printer memory, items on the Hard Disk remain in the printer even when the printer is turned off. Fonts downloaded to the Hard Disk are available to all users of the printer. The Hard Disk can be write-protected through software for additional security. Windows Users Use HP LaserJet Resource Manager to delete files and manage fonts on a mass storage device (page 73). For more information, see the printer software help. HP is constantly introducing new software tools for use with your printer and accessories.
