HP DeskJet printer buttons (shown below) let you turn the printer on and off, cancel a print job, or resume printing. The lights give you visual cues about the state of your printer you need to check the status of your print cartridges. If that CD doesn't work, you may need to replace your CD player. 3 If other CD's work but the printer software CD doesn't, you may have a damaged CD.
