Switch goes through Power On Self Test (POST). POST runs every time the PC Blade Switch is initialized and checks hardware components to determine if they are fully operational before completely booting. If a critical problem is detected, the program flow stops and the switch LED glows red. If POST - HP BladeSystem bc2200 | HP BladeSystem PC Blade Switch Installation Guide - Page 21
displayed at the end of POST (see the last lines) indicates that no problems were encountered during boot. During boot, the Startup menu can be used to continues decompressing and loading the firmware into RAM. After the PC Blade Switch boots successfully, a system prompt will be displayed.
