Scanning sensitivity – backside of scanned image, shows

on front of print as faint image.

What is it?

The CIS (contact image sensor) scan module is very sensitive. The image on the back of an image being

scanned may show on the output print as a faint image.

Issue Description:

This image quality issue is caused by light weight media being scanned with the CIS (contact image

sensor) scan module. The image on the backside of image which is being scanned may appear as a

shadow in the printed image. This may result in undesirable image quality. The faint image may appear

to be bleed through.

The issue cannot be eliminated, only reduced in severity.

Issue Resolution:

1)

Use a single sided original on the scanner glass whenever possible.

2)

Use the “copy features”, “image adjustment”, and adjust “background” 1 or 2 positions to the left

(lighter).

3)

Use the “copy features”, “image adjustment”, and adjust “contrast” 1 or 2 positions to the left and

adjust the “copy features”, “image adjustment”, “lightness” one or two positions to the right

(darker).
