PPRC, Business Continuity Manager, and consistency groups PPRC or Business Continuity Manager can be used to perform most of the same operations as with Remote Web Console, but using a command line interface. Update copy I/O sent to the S-VOL in Duplex status is marked as differential data and stored in bitmaps for transfer to the T-VOL. T-VOL may not be the same because the copy of the update data is performed asynchronously. To ensure that S-VOL and T-VOL data are the same at a certain point in time, the pair must be split.
