Supported Cable Configurations
This document illustrates a few of the supported cabling
configurations for this device. Because devices provide
one or more ports and may be deployed in single- or
dual-domain environments, many configurations are
possible. Use illustrations in this document as a
guideline to connect cables in your environment.

Direct-connect configuration requirements
The following requirements are applicable for all supported configurations
of the MSA2000sa:
A maximum of 128 LUNs can be mapped per SC08Ge Host Bus
Adapter (HBA)
A maximum of 255 LUNs can be mapped per MSA2000sa (requires
two HBA SAS ports)
IMPORTANT:
Any number or combination of LUNs can be shared between
controllers, but you may not exceed 128 LUNs per single server
connection or 255 LUNs per MSA2000sa.
IMPORTANT:
Observe the following cabling rules:
Only use supported mini-SAS 4x cables with 3 Gb connect-
ors.
Ensure that servers being connected to the MSA are powered
down and power cords are disconnected before connecting
SAS cables.
Single-controller configurations
one server/one HBA/single path
128 LUNs max to Server 1
one server/one HBA/dual path
128 LUNs max to Server 1
one server/two HBAs/dual path
255 LUNs max to Server 1
