About this document
This document details procedures for replacing a failed 2-Port
Ethernet iSCSI module in an HP StorageWorks Modular Smart Array
1510i (MSA1510i.)
Before you begin
Read the following cautions and notes.
CAUTION:
Be sure the replacement is available before
removing the failed component. Removing a component impacts
airflow and cooling within the enclosure.
CAUTION:
Follow these instructions when replacing
components. If the procedure is done improperly, it is possible to
lose data or damage equipment.
CAUTION:
Parts can be damaged by electrostatic discharge.
Use proper anti-static protection. See documentation shipped with
your system for additional information.
CAUTION:
Stop all system access to the module before
proceeding with these replacement procedures.
NOTE:
For optimum performance from the MSA1510i, use
qualified Category 5e (or better) Ethernet cables when connecting
the Ethernet iSCSI module to the switch.
Verifying module failure
•
Verify that the Ethernet iSCSI module Status LED is not
illuminated, or is blinking amber.
These patterns indicate a faulty module.
