l D640 PPD diskette: Formatted for your computer, this diskette contains a PostScript Printer Definition (PPD) file you can use with a PostScript compatible driver on Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0. install the SIMM card. A wrist strap is included in with the PostScript emulation kit. To install the SIMM card: Step 1 Power off the printer. Step 2 Open the upper right cover and the ejection unit cover. 4 Memory slots Step 7 Remove the SIMM card from its protective bag and locate the first empty slot (the slot with the lowest number) on the printer. Step 8 Slide the SIMM card into the slot at a 45-degree angle. Press down firmly on the card to make sure the connector is firmly in the socket. Step 9 Replace the memory access cover. Make sure you slide the cover under the metal bracket on each side of the cover. Installing/Upgrading PostScript Emulation Software Note This section describes how to install PostScript emulation software on your D640 printer. Follow these instructions if you're installing PostScript emulation for the first time, or if you're upgrading your PostScript emulation software. The following is one example of installing the PPD file on a computer running Windows NT 4.0. Use this as a model for installing the PPD file on your own computer. Before you install the PPD, make sure you have access to the following driver files: l PSCRIPT.DLL l I386 In addition to the Windows installation CDROM, make sure you have the D640 PPD installation disk handy.
