8.2.1 Turning Wi-Fi On 5 1. On the Home screen, touch > Settings > Wireless & networks. 2. Select the Wi-Fi check box. 8.2.2 Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network 1. Ensure that Wi-Fi is turned on. 5 2. On the Home screen, touch > Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi settings. A list of detected Wi-Fi networks is displayed under Wi-Fi networks. 3. Touch the Wi-Fi network you want to connect to. • If you select an open network, you automatically connect to the network. • If you select a network that is secured with Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) and connect to it for the first time, enter the password as prompted, and touch Connect. If you connect to a secured network that you have already used, you will not be prompted to enter the password again unless you have reset your phone to its default settings. On the Wi-Fi settings screen, touch Add Wi-Fi network to add a new Wi-Fi network. 8.3 MetroWEB The MetroWEB application allows you to access Internet websites and browse web pages. 8.3.1 Opening the MetroWEB Application 5 On the Home screen, touch > MetroWEB. When both a known or open Wi-Fi network and a mobile network are available, the phone preferentially uses the Wi-Fi network for Internet access. 6 In a browser window, touch for the following options: • New window: open a new window. 33
