NS-42L780A12/NS-46L780A12/NS-55L780A12 Insignia 42"/46"/55" LCD HDTV, 1080p Connecting a home theater system with multiple devices Notes When connecting an AV receiver with the ARC function, we recommend that you connect the AV receiver's HDMI OUT jack to your TV's HDMI2 (ARC) jack by using an HDMI-ARC compliant cable. In the following situations, the HDMI cable will route Dolby Digital audio to the AV receiver, so you do not need to connect a separate digital audio cable: • Have a game console connected to your TV's HDMI 1 or HDMI 3 jacks. • When you watch a program through an antenna or cable TV connected to the ANT/CABLE jack. Blu-ray player/DVD player/VCR Cable or satellite TV box Using the remote control Installing remote control batteries To install the remote control batteries: 1 Remove the battery cover. AV receiver Game console or camera 2 Insert two AAA batteries into the battery compartment. Make sure that you match the + and - symbols on the batteries with the + and - symbols in the battery compartment. USB flash drive Computer Antenna or cable TV connected directly to the wall jack The connections you make depend on the video and audio jacks available on your devices. Refer to the documentation that came with your devices for connection information. Just remember to use the best connection types available for the best picture and sound. For information about connection types, see "What connection should I use?" on page 10. 3 Replace the battery cover. Cautions • Batteries should not be exposed to excessive heat, such as sunshine, heat registers, or fire. • Battery chemicals can cause a rash. If the batteries leak, clean the battery compartment with a cloth. If chemicals touch your skin, wash immediately. • Make sure that batteries are disposed of correctly. Do not burn or incinerate. The connections you make depend on the video
and audio jacks available on your devices. Refer to
the documentation that came with your devices for
connection information.
Just remember to use the best connection types
available for the best picture and sound. For
information about connection types, see “What
connection should I use?” on page 10.
Using the remote control
Installing remote control batteries
To install the remote control batteries:

Remove the battery cover.

Insert two AAA batteries into the battery
compartment. Make sure that you match the +
and – symbols on the batteries with the + and –
symbols in the battery compartment.

Replace the battery cover.
Aiming the remote control
To aim the remote control:
Point the remote control towards the remote
sensor on the front of your TV.

When connecting an AV receiver with the ARC
function, we recommend that you connect the
AV receiver’s
HDMI OUT
jack to your TV’s
