Function of KDC-BT742U Audio Adjustments (DSP) Cabin selection You can compensate the delay of the sound arrival time by selecting your environment from the following car types; Car type Not compensating. Compact car Full size car Station wagon Minivan Sport-utility vehicle Minivan Long Display "OFF" "COMPACT" "F-SIZE" "WAGON" "MINIVAN" "SUV" "MV-LONG" 1 Enter Cabin select mode Select "DSP" > "SETUP" > "CABIN". For how to select Function Control item, refer to (page 6). 2 Select the car type Turn the [AUD] knob and push the center when the desired item is displayed. 3 Exit Cabin select mode Press the [SEARCH] button. ⁄ • You can compensate the distances in more details by using (page 23) function. Speaker Setting Setting the speaker to be connected, speaker size, and installation position; Setting speaker Front Speaker "FRONT" Location Speaker Size Tweeter Rear Speaker "REAR" Location Speaker Size Subwoofer Speaker "SUB-W" Size Display "LOCATION" "SIZE" "TWEETER" "LOCATION" "SIZE" "SIZE" Range "DOOR"/ "ON DASH"/ "UND DASH" "SMALL" / "MEDIUM"/ "LARGE" "NONE"/ "USE" • "DOOR"/ "REAR DECK" • "2ND ROW"/ "3RD ROW" (Minivan/ Passenger van) "NONE"/ "SMALL" / "MEDIUM"/ "LARGE" "NONE"/ "SMALL" / "LARGE" 1 Enter Speaker Setting mode Select "DSP" > "SETUP" > "SPEAKER". For how to select Function Control item, refer to (page 6). 2 Select the item you want to set Turn the [AUD] knob and push the center when the desired item is displayed. 3 Set the value Turn the [AUD] knob and push the center when the desired item is displayed. 4 Exit Speaker Setting mode Press the [SEARCH] button. DTA (Digital Time Alignment) setting Adjusting fine tuning of the speaker position compensation value specified at (page 23). 1 Enter DTA setting mode Select "DSP" > "SETUP" > "DTA". For how to select Function Control item, refer to (page 6). 2 Select the speaker you want to set Setting speaker Front speaker Rear speaker Subwoofer Display "FRONT" "REAR" "SUB-W" Turn the [AUD] knob and push the center when the desired item is displayed. 3 Set the compensation value of the speaker position Turn the [AUD] knob and push the center when the desired valueis displayed. Adjust between 0 and 14.44 feet. Refer to (page 38) on how to set the compensation value. 4 Exit DTA setting mode Press the [SEARCH] button. English | 23
