Specifying scan settings From the [Scan Settings] screen, settings for scanning the document can be specified. [Original Type] Select the appropriate image quality setting according to your document. Item [Text] [Text/Photo] [Photo] Description Select this setting when scanning documents containing only text. Select this setting when scanning documents containing a combination of text and photos. Select this setting when scanning documents containing only photos. [Resolution] Select the resolution at which the document is to be scanned. Item Description [Standard] The document will be scanned at 200 × 100 dpi. [Fine] The document will be scanned at 200 × 200 dpi. [Super Fine] (G3 fax The document will be scanned at 400 × 400 dpi. only) " A finer scan has more information to be sent, therefore, the transmis- sion time increases. " Only [Standard] and [Fine] are available for sending Internet faxes. If [Super Fine] was selected, the setting will change to [Fine] before the Internet fax is sent. [Separate Scan] A document can be divided and scanned separately. The scan operation can be divided into several sessions, for example, when the document contains more pages than can be loaded into the ADF or when the original glass is being used to scan a document containing multiple pages, and then all scanned pages can be faxed as a single document.
