Device Basics G Do not wait until your battery is completely depleted before charging your device. Repeating this process of a complete discharge and recharge can over time reduce the storage capacity of any battery. G Turn off Automatic application sync. G Use the Power Control Widget to deactivate hardware functions such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Synchronization, or the LCD brightness setting. G Check the Running Services and close any unnecessary applications. G Turn down screen brightness and set a shorter screen timeout. To check the battery's charge level: Press > > Settings > About phone > Status. The battery status (charging or discharging) and level (as a percentage of fully charged) are displayed at the top of the screen. To monitor and control what uses the battery: The Battery use screen shows which applications consume the most battery power. You can also use it to turn off applications that you've downloaded, if they are consuming too much power. 1. Press > > Settings > About phone > Battery use. 2.
