Data Services FAQs How do I sign in for the first time? You are automatically signed in to access data services when you turn on your device. How do I know when my device is connected to data services? Your device automatically connects when you use data service or an incoming message arrives. You will also see the or indicator. Can I make calls and use data services at the same time? No, you cannot use voice and data services simultaneously. When is my data connection active? Your connection is active when data is being transferred. Outgoing calls are allowed; incoming calls go directly to voicemail. When active, the or indicator is animated on the display screen. When is my data connection dormant? If your device receives no data for 10 seconds, the connection goes dormant. When the connection is dormant, you can make and receive voice calls. (The connection may become active again quickly.) If your device receives no data for an extended period, the connection will terminate. Can I re-download paid applications without being charged again? Your Market applications are associated to your Google account login information. Even if your device is reset and reinstalled with an update to Android, you can log back into your Google account and reinstall these applications.
