Triple Interface & RAID Flexibility

This easy-to-use two-disk device incorporates the three most

universal interfaces. It comes with two FireWire 800 ports,

one FireWire 400 port and one Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port for

PC or Mac users. The 2big Triple is ideal for storing office

data and archiving image banks but also for audio/video

projects (DV and SD video playback or 2D/3D imaging

projects). Offering four different RAID levels, it meets any

kind of storage need: security, large capacity or speed.

Simply select your RAID level with the mechanical switch on

the back.

High-Performance Storage

The 2big Triple is the ultimate storage solution for audio/

video and creative professionals who need swift, reliable

performance. FireWire 800 interface delivers impressively

rapid burst transfer rates of up to 90MB/s** in RAID 0

configuration. In FAST mode (hardware RAID 0), the 2big

Triple uses the two SATA drives simultaneously to deliver

maximum performance. Select the BIG mode for maximum

capacity or choose JBOD wherein the two drives work

independently.

Security For Professional Data

In SAFE 100 (RAID 1) configuration, the two disks are

mirrored for maximum security. Data is automatically

duplicated to each drive so the available capacity is reduced

to 50%. If one drive fails in RAID 1, data remains accessible

and can even be automatically rebuilt onto a spare drive

(sold separately). For ensuring complete data security and

availability, the drives are hot-swappable. The 2big Triple

comes with award-winning EMC® Retrospect® Express

for advanced backup management and data restoration

(Windows & Mac). Automatic backups of selected files or

folders can be scheduled to protect your data.

Superior Design

The 2big’s design is attractive, compact and allows for up to

2TB capacity. The heat sink metal design naturally draws heat

away from the hard disk’s internal components to help keep

it cool and improve reliability. With versatile configurations

such as vertical, horizontal, stacked or rack-mounted, it

conforms to your work environment. It offers triple power

management: “Auto” for energy efficiency; “On” for instant

access; or “Off” for data protection. The large glowing blue

button on the front functions as a Shortcut Button that can

launch EMC® Retrospect® advanced backup software or any

other application of your choosing.
