Instructions Guidelines This publication provides information about how to install your server into a standard rack cabinet using the rail kit shipped with your server. < 100 kg (220.5 lb) CAUTION: Use safe practices when lifting. • Before installing a server into a rack cabinet, remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the server. , remove all the parts from the rail kit package shipped with your server and lay all the parts on a working surface. Notes: • An optional cable management arm can help you to manage your cables. The left slide rail and the right slide rail are almost the same. The illustration below shows the components of the left slide rail. Figure 3. form a group, which indicates 1U space. Note the measuring marks on a mounting flange to help you correctly select a rack mounting area for the server. For more information about the placement of the holes in a mounting flange, refer to the documentation that comes with the rack cabinet. b. Pull up the release latch 1 on the front end of the right slide rail. Keep the release latch in the raised position and pull out the slide rail lock 2 . Figure 6. Unlocking the slide rail lock c. d. Repeat steps 1 through 3 to install the left slide rail to the opposite side of the rack cabinet. 2. Install the cable management arm by doing the following: a. Turn to the rear of the rack cabinet. b. Align the bump on the crossbar with the dent on the bar-rail joint 1 . d. Connect the arm marked with A and the arm-rail joint by pulling out the eject button 1 and inserting the arm into the arm-rail joint 2 . Figure 10.
