Audio 37 Change Audio settings based on other equipment you connected to the DVD Player or according to your Disc sound features. 1 While playback is stopped, press SETUP. The QUICK SETUP screen will appear. STANDBY-ON REPEAT A-B OPEN/ CLOSE DISPLAY SKIP PAUSE QUICK SETUP PLAYER MENU TV ASPECT DOLBY DIGITAL ENGLISH 4:3 LETTER BOX ON OK 2 Press B to select CUSTOM at the top of the menu, then press OK. LANGUAGE AUDIO ORIGINAL SUBTITLE OFF DISC MENU ENGLISH PLAYER MENU ENGLISH OK 2-5 1,6 1 2 4 5 7 8 CLEAR 0 MENU AUDIO 3 SUBTITLE 6 ANGLE 9 SEARCH MODE +10 TITLE MODE ZOOM OK SETUP RETURN MARKER 3 Press B to select AUDIO ( the menu, then press OK. ) at the top of 4 Press o or p to select DRC, DOLBY DIGITAL, or DOWN SAMPLING, then follow step 5 accordingly. 5 q If you selected DRC, press OK repeatedly to turn Dynamic Range Control (DRC) ON or OFF. Choosing ON compresses the range of volume by suppressing loud sounds and raising low sounds. q If you selected DOLBY DIGITAL, press OK repeatedly to select ON or OFF. Select ON if you used the COAXIAL Digital Audio Out jack to connect the DVD Player to a stereo that is Dolby Digital compatible. Details are on page 14. Otherwise, choose OFF. q If you selected DOWN SAMPLING, press OK repeatedly to choose ON or OFF. Choose ON to set downsampling to 48 kHz. Choose OFF to set downsampling to 96 kHz. Helpful Hints • Dolby Digital sound must be available on the DVD. • You can adjust DOLBY DIGITAL in the QUICK SETUP menu that appears when you first press SETUP. With QUICK selected, press OK. Press p to select DOLBY DIGITAL. Press OK to choose ON or OFF. Press SETUP to remove the menu. • When you play a Disc that has copyright protection, downsampling will be at 48 kHz, even if you set DOWN SAMPLING to OFF.
