OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS (CONTINUED) PLAYING COMPACT DISCS This unit can play standard, CD-R or CD-RW CDs. 1 2 3 Press the POWER button to turn the unit on. Repeatedly press the FUNCTION button to select CD. 1 Press the CD OPEN button and gently press a CD onto the center spindle with the label side facing forwa1rd and close the CD compartment by gently pressing the CD compartment door down until it clicks into place. The total number of tracks will appear in the display. NOTE: 3 inch single or standard CDs can be used with this unit. 4 5 6 Press the PLAY/PAUSE (®p) button to begin playback on Track 1. Playback will continue until all the tracks on the disc have been played. Adjust the VOLUME -/+ buttons as desired. To stop playback before the disc ends, press the STOP/BAND (s) button. The disc will stop and the display will show the total number of tracks on the disc. CD PAUSE CONTROL 1 2 During CD playback, if you wish to pause the disc momentarily, press the PLAY/PAUSE (®p) button. Playback stops but the disc continues to spin and the Play indicator will blink. Press the PLAY/PAUSE (®p) button again to release pause and resume normal CD playback. 12
